17. May 2013: Lobby Bar @Metropol Palace, A Luxury Collection

| June 9, 2013 | 0 Comments

Staying at the Metropol Palace when in Belgrade is definitely recommendable – the place is great: modern, comfortable, and the service is incredibly friendly. The “freshyl squeezed lemonade” (0,25L, 460 RSD ~ EUR 4.10) is absolutely yummy!

The “beef burger with French fries, kohlrabi and sweet chili mayonnaise” (900 RSC ~ EUR 8.10) was fine – greatest though were the kohlrabi and the sweet chili mayonnaise! Personally, I would have preferred it if they would have exchanged all the French fries for the kohlrabi!

The place is absolutely lovely …

… although the bar is located basically in the lobby which is normally not the best place to be, the lobby of the Metropol Palace is incredibly comfortable!

While the food is fine, the prices are fair for a five star hotel and the atmosphere is great – the service is incredibly friendly but somehow limitedly attentive. I mean, I get that it is difficult to see the clients behind the pillars sometimes but in the afternoon we waited like 15 minutes until a waiter noticed us – although walking by approximately ten times. In the evening it was way better but still you basically had to wave so they saw you!

In any case, I can recommend eating at the Lobby Bar – it is very comfortable and nice and you just feel well taken care of there even though there is room for improvement when it comes to the attentiveness of the staff – everything else is not to be complained about!
