The breakfast at the Metropol Palace Restaurant is quite good – the selection offered at the buffet ranges from cheese to olives over tomatoes and mozzarrella, small snacks …
… to cold cuts …
… sweets …
… fresh juices …
… and the more hearty warm stuff like bacon and eggs. Even a couple of Serbian specialties are offered like the already famous “pepper chutney” and the Serbian beans.
The restaurant itself is also rather nice as it is located at the rear of the hotel with view of a park – when the sun is out you can sit outside and enjoy it – marvelous to have breakfast! The service is once more very friendly but once more they are limitedly attentive. When we sat down nobody felt like approaching us to ask what we wanted to drink or if we needed anything. Well, eventually they noticed us (after we made ourselves seen) and brought us a plate, fork and the ordered tea. Two out of three times they forgot to provide us with napkins though – on Monday it got better as apparently more experienced personnel was there. In any case, they are absolutely friendly – nothing to complain there!
When you stay at the Metropol Palace, I can definitely recommend you to have breakfast there – the place is very nice and the food is good and the service incredibly friendly (and competent on some days). I guess (and hope) it was new hires which were there the first two days – otherwise, the hotel has a problem to stand for a luxury brand with this unattentive service.
