18. May 2013: Novak Cafe & Restaurant

| June 10, 2013 | 0 Comments

The “Caesar Salad” (grilled chicken chops on “iceberg” lettuce with Caesar dressing and croutons, 800.00 RSD) was quite fine. The chicken was a tiny bit too dry but besides that, definitely a tasty starter (although quite a big one).

The “Tuna steak” (grilled tuna with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, red onions and pine nuts, 1’600.00 RSD) looked absolutely delicious and I must admit that the salad sauce was great – unfortunately the tuna was way too dry! It was not even remotely red or pink inside but just dry, therefore, it was not really satisfying.

The restaurant of the Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is located right next to the crossing of the Danube and the Sava river. Therefore, the view you have from there is quite beautiful and inviting and makes you want to stay there for hours enjoying the sun.

But not only the view is nice, also the design of the restaurant is quite appealing – modern design, nice furniture and quite spacious (if it is not crammed with a 12-persons table). The service is very friendly – but again they are not really attentive. We – a group of four – arrived and waited pretty much until the waiter brought us the menus which took at least 15 minutes. After that, the service was absolutely fine.

Overall, I can recommend going to the Novak Cafe & Restaurant – the place is nice, the view is great, the service is generally good if you do not care too much about if they are attentive or not. My food was not that amazing but it was not bad at all – the food of the other three of the party was apparently quite good!
