4. August 2013: Restaurant Cantinetta am Ring

| August 16, 2013 | 0 Comments

Once more, Delinski proofed to be a good point of reference. I randomly found the “Cantinetta am Ring” and I must say, I was not disappointed. It started with “Trofie/Cantarelli with chanterelles and a herb sauce” (EUR 14.00, respectively EUR 9.80) – the pasta was beautifully al dente and aromatic.

As a main, I had the “Filetto di Manzo alla Griglia with home-made truffled gnocchi and a herb cream sauce” (EUR 28.00, respectively EUR 19.60). The gnocchi were modestly truffled and tasty, the meat was well-prepared but was lacking a bit of the intense meat taste I love so much but is still recommendable.

For dessert, I had “Torta Caprese con Gelato alla Vaniglia” (EUR 8.00, respectively EUR 5.60) which was rich, heavy but had a sweet and juicy chocolate taste.

The place is fine outside, as it is located right next to the “Ring street”, it gets quite noisy in the evenings. But once you sit inside – it started pouring after our main course – it is actually pretty nice and you feel somehow like you are in Italy. And the personnel is from Italy too – our waiter was from Calabria, the chef from Napoli and Veronica, the waitress, was for sure Italian too (or at least had Italian roots). And talking about the staff, they are dedicated, passionate about their job and really understand what good service means!

The prices for the beverages are quite okay too – a bottle of “Barbera d’Alba, Piemonte, Bruno Giacosa, 2009” accounts for EUR 50.00 (respectively EUR 35.00), a double espresso for EUR 4.20 (respectively EUR 2.94), a 2cl glass of “Bric del Gaian, Berta” for EUR 11.00 (respectively EUR 7.70) and last but not least you’re charged a cover charge of EUR 2.50.

I can absolutely recommend the Restaurant Cantinetta am Ring – I recommend you though, booking it through Delinski so you get the 30% discount!
