I did not expect much of Mallorca as I only heard about the Ballermann – but I must say, my Mallorca experience started very good. When you enter the Restaurant Tast you already feel comfortable – the interior is nicely designed, you are walked through a former library and finally are seated in a very cozy atmosphere. As a greeting from the kitchen we received tuna and crabs on toasted bread.

While it is actually a pretty simple dish, the “pan de cristal” (EUR 3.00) is a tasty combination of dried bread, olive oil and garlic which is a perfect start for the evening.

The “Bacalao Gratinado (espinacas, muselina de ajo)” (EUR 19.00) was good but nothing more. The cod au gratin was fine but was just missing this special kind of something.

The next course on the other hand was absolutely tasty. The “pulpo a la plancha (patatas confitadas, pimentón)” (EUR 14.00) was tender and aromatic and even the underlying potatoes were good.

While not actually a typical Spanish dish, the “Ensalada Caprese with mozzarella di buffala” (EUR 12.00) is worth trying. Frankly, you could also just order the mozzarella di buffala as this is the part which is really outstanding.

The prices are absolutely fair for what you get which also applies to the beverages (water, 1L, EUR 3.80; Callos a la madrileña, EUR 8.00; Copa Hito, EUR 4.00; Cafe Solo, EUR 2.00). The place is – as you can see – absolutely great. The service is very friendly, no question, but lacks a bit of attention. Sometimes you pretty much have to wave at them so they realize that you are there wishing for service.

Overall, the Restaurant Tast offers great food, very fair prices and amazing atmosphere but unfortunately as friendly the service is, it definitely lacks attention which was a bit annoying. But if you are in Mallorca, I can definitely recommend you going there.
