11. October 2013: Restaurace Kobe
Given that I had just eaten a couple of hours before, I decided to only try one small dish – so I went for the “California Special Selection 10 Pieces” (410 CZK, approx. 20.50 CHF). The sushi was actually quite tasty, I must admit but then again it was definitely not outstanding. With regards to the place – if it would not have been recommended to me I most probably would not have walked in but as it did, I did.
The place is quite nice, modernly furnished but somehow has an atmosphere of being very touristic and kind of mass production – especially as the place is too bright and the light is not dimmed at all so you kind of feel uncomfortable. The prices are quite steep for the dishes which does not apply to the beverages (e.g. water, 0,75L accounts for CZK 110, approx. CHF 5.50; a mojito for CZK 150, approx. CHF 7.50).
The service is fair – they do their jobs but you cannot see any passion in what they are doing so it is really just average. Overall, I must admit I was a bit disappointed given I have been to the Cestr (which was amazing) and both places have been recommended by the same person. In any case, I guess it is okay to go here – definitely not my favourite though.
