18. November 2013: Winstub S’Kaechele
A typical French restaurant and sound and fair French food is what you get at the Winstub S’Kaechele – the “Grapevine snails s’Kaechele au roquefort” (EUR 14.00, 6 pieces) are tasty or rather – the sauce au roquefort is absolutely delicious.
As a main dish I went for “rognons de Veau, sauce moutarde à l’ancienne, pommes de terre sautées et salade verte” (EUR 15.00) which were quite tasty but not outstanding.
The salad was fine but with industrially produced salad sauce and the potatoes were actually quite tasty but a bit too dry for my personal gusto.
Finally, I decided to enjoy the “profiteroles with vanilla icecream” (EUR 7.00) which were very enjoyable too …
… especially because of the “chocolat chaud” which came with it. The restaurant is run by the owners and they owner was friendly and helpful. The prices are pretty fair for what you get too which also applies for the beverages. 0,5L of Bordeaux house wine account for EUR 14.40 which is quite acceptable.
The place it self is very small, very narrow but provides you with an immediate feeling of comfortableness – just very cozy overall to be in the Winstub S’Kaechele.
