21. November 2013: Restaurant Café de Ville
The “Clubsandwich ‘Beefburger’ made of Swiss beef, toast, salad, mayo, ketchup and onions with home-made French fries” (CHF 23.00) was a bit a hearty breakfast but also quite fine. The beef is juicy, the sauce for the sandwich tasty – only the French fries were not entirely satisfying: they were somehow not crunchy enough for my personal taste, although I must admit that they were also not stroppy or something the like.
The “Tea Assam Grand Jardin” (CHF 6.00) on the other hand is delicious and the atmosphere in the Restaurant Café de Ville is definitely also outstanding – great atmoshere, very nice interior, furniture, decoration. Definitely lovely – make sure to book a table during lunch time though, else you won’t be able to eat during that time.
The waitress is friendly, helpful but only limitedly quick. To be fair, it took a while to pick something to eat but still, definitely not ideal. Overall, I can recommend the Restaurant Café de Ville especially if you want to sit down and enjoy a good cup of tea in a nice atmosphere.
