The “beef bouillon celestine” (EUR 6.50) was definitely a simple dish but was nevertheless tasty. The broth was aromatic and the pancake stripes were tasty too.

Now, I was invited to try the “Viennese Schnitzel” (EUR 26.00) as I had a discussion with one of the responsibles of the Vienna Starwood Complex on where the best Viennese Schnitzel can be found – and so far I would probably have voted for the Restaurant Zum Schwarzen Kameel but I must say that the Viennese Schnitzel in the Restaurant Café Imperial is as good. The meat is nicely seasoned, the breadcrumb coat is fluffy, detached from the meat and definitely yummy.

The “potato and green salad” which comes with it is a simple but sound salad – great sauce, especially the potato salad is delicious. The service is truly exquisite – the waiters and waitresses definitely know what to do and how to provide flawless service. In addition to that, the waiters are not only doing a good job but are also very friendly.

The atmosphere in the whole hotel is outstanding – it is a very old, well maintained hotel which is beautifully decorated and somehow stylish – although a rather old style but definitely stylish. The same applies of course to the Restaurant Café Imperial – all decorated very beautifully.

Overall, I can recommend you to have lunch at the Restaurant Café Imperial as well as breakfast. Definitely worth going and definitely worth trying the Viennese Schnitzel.
