28. December 2013 – 2. January 2014: Restaurant La Torre @ Le Méridien Etiler
I think I have never seen such a full-fledged breakfast buffet like in the Restaurant La Torre in the Le Meridien Etiler. The selection is not only huge but it is also very rich, aromatic and flavourful. The buffet offer starts with something I have never ever had for breakfast – sushi!
The various Japanese tempura, the salmon in miso sauce, …
… a large selection of different jams …
… even fresh honey combs …
… a big selection of various cereals …
… various crystallised fruits and similar Turkish delicacies …
… various types of cheese including Turkish ones …
… hot dishes like steamed tomatos, Turkish mini-cakes, scrambled eggs …
… fresh olives, tomatoes, including regular salad …
… eggs …
… Turkish sandwiches …
… Turkish yoghurts and shakes …
… various cold cuts …
… butter and various other spreads …
… even a pancake stand …
… and various fresh juices including very tasty smoothies …
… a selection of fresh and cut fruits …
… and last but not least an omelette station where quite good omelettes are prepared.
Not to be forgotten is the selection of various breads and Turkish delights – just be aware that the sweets can really be damn sweet sometimes!
Overall, the selection is great and the dishes are all very tasty. But not only the dishes are tasty but also the service is quite fine – friendly, helpful, quick and always considered that the table is emptied as soon as the plate is done. Last but not least, the place is also nicely and modernly furnished, nicely decorated and just makes you feel comfortable.
I usually don’t say that but this breakfast buffet is definitely a place which is worth to come here just for the breakfast even when you are not staying at the Le Méridien! Lovely place, great food, definitely worth eating here!
