31. December 2013: Latitude Bar @ Le Méridien Etiler
The most typical dish on the menu is the “Meze Tray” containing “spicy tomato paste, humus, muhammara, circissian chicken, mint yoghurt, eggplant salad, fava bean paste and wrapped wine leaves” (29.00 TRL). There were quite a few things I have never tried before and of those, the muhammara, is absolutely tasty. Overall, the selection is vast and the dishes are rich.
The “Turkish Tea” (8.00 TRL) was strong and rich but frankly a bit expensive compared to the Turkish tea I have enjoyed all over Istanbul. The service is okay – the waiters do their job – not much more than that though.
The interior design of the Latitude Bar is nice, very comfortable chairs, nicely decorated and just somehow appealing overall.
On a rainy day, the Latitude Bar is a nice place to sit down and enjoy a Turkish Tea or even a drink – and even the dishes are quite fine, so when you’re staying at the Hotel Le Méridien Etiler, it is fine to eat and drink something at the Latitude Bar.
