27. March 2014: Restaurant Krone
I have been driving by the Restaurant Krone many times before I finally managed to try the dishes. After ordering, popcorn with tomato taste was served and while definitely a nice idea, I must admit that I did not taste much of the tomato flavour it was supposed to have.
As a main I had the “home made perch strips with tatar sauce, boiled potatoes and leaf spinach” (CHF 29.90). The perch strips were big, flavourful and still a bit juicy and not all dried out as you often see it when you eat fried fish at a food truck or the like. The sides were tasty too and to even the sauce tatare was good.
The prices for the dishes are absolutely fair, and so are the prices for the beverages (Humagne Rouge, 1DL, CHF 8.70; water 0,5L, CHF 6.00; double espresso, CHF 5.70; Krone Pimms, CHF 8.50). The place is absolutely lovely as it is in a former farmer’s house and all is held in wood. The tables are nicely apart and you have some privacy. The service is dedicated, friendly, and caring. Overall, I can recommend to dine at the Restaurant Krone: Lovely place, good dishes, good service, and very fair price performance ratio.
