29. March 2014: Eis-Greissler
I had walked by this little ice cream parlour a couple of times before and I was always wondering why there is such an incredibly long line of people queueing to get some icecream – now, I understand! As I was curious and had some time at hand I decided to take the cumbersome hazzle to queue in line on me to see what they were offering. When I got closer to the entrance I saw the “ice cream menu” – and I was surprised to read flavours like “goat cheese”, “pumpkin seed oil”, “caramel from the Alpes” and “shortbread” on the menu and these plus vanilla were the five flavours I went for in a “Big Wow” cup (EUR 5.50).
The flavours are definitely unique and intense – surprising yet good. Personally, until today I still don’t know if I like “pumpkin seed oil” as an icecream flavour but it was definitely interesting. So, taste-wise it definitely pays off to queue – and also to see the little parlour as the place is tiny but absolutely lovely decorated. I will definitely pay this place a visit when I’m in Vienna again.
