17. October 2009: Restaurant Pizzeria La Cappa d’Oro

| October 18, 2009 | 1 Comments

The pizzeria La Cappa d’Oro is located right outside Vatican City and therefore, easily reachable when you’re in the Vatican. It’s a five-minutes-footwalk from the St. Peter’s Place to the pizzeria.

From the outside the place looks quite touristic and it probably is. On the other hand, if you look at the prices it can’t be that touristic as they are in a fair price range not charging astronomic prices.

The pizzeria is a bit tinny and therefor, it’s quite difficult to fit in a large group of people. On the other hand, exactly this setting offers an typical Italian cosyness.

La Cappa d'Oro

The waiters are friendly and the dishes are served in short time. The pizza is tasty and very thin – real Italian style. Therefor, absolutely recommendable. Especially after an exhausting walk through the Vatican museum and to the top of the St. Peter’s Cathedrale.

This is one of the unpleasant experiences in dining in Rome!!
this November I went there , yes the food served shortly but in the same time there’s no follow up from the waiter /restaurant owner .

I had grilled vegetables as Antipasti , it was fine and Carbonara with no pork ( still i was charged as a full ingredients ..but any way this is no problem)
the table had no olive oil /salt /pepper , i had to go and bring it myself AND they were empty !!! the olive oil was with no cap

    so you can imagine
how to have this in this LIVE area

any way it is an experience :)

Glad that I found a post on it
