27. July 2014: Restaurant @ Hotel Almfrieden

| September 2, 2014 | 0 Comments

A sound, fair, hearty breakfast is what you find at the Restaurant in the Hotel Almfrieden. The hotel is located in the middle of the mountains and has a marvelous surrounding – one which would make you want to stay there for a bit longer and spend a couple of relaxing days in the mountains. The breakfast buffet, however, is nice but not much more than that. The selection ranges from various fresh fruit juices …

… as well as cold cuts and cheese. The selection is somehow broad, no question but on the other hand you find a bit of everything but not really much of everything. Obvisouly, quality goes before quantity, however sometimes I would consider it nice if you had the chance to pick from maybe more than just one option for one thing offered.

The place – as depicted above – is absolutely lovely. Nice restaurant, nice rooms, absolutely fine for breakfast – but somehow inexistent service. I mean, I do not mind getting a pot of tea myself but when I asked for it I was answered: “It’s over there!” which is not really the level of service I would wish for. However, all in all, it is worth to stay at the Hotel Almfrieden due to the view, calmness and beauty of the landscape.
