6. August 2014: Restaurant Yooji’s Bahnhofstrasse
I haven’t been at Yooji’s for approximately five years – and have never been to the one in Bahnhofstrasse – but as it was sushi day somehow, I ended up going there. While on the ground floor there is a regular shop where you can buy stuff from the shelves, you have to go downstairs to end up in the restaurant part (with running sushi). When you sit down you get to order from an iPad if you want any additional starters or drinks. I decided to have the “Spicy Cucumber Gazpacho” (CHF 8.90) which was actually nicely spicy but on the other hand rather smooth and aromatic.
After that, it was time to help yourself at the running sushi and my first course was the “Tuna Tartare” (CHF 12.90) which was smooth and of good flavour.
Second in row was the “Fried Duck” (CHF 12.90) which was a tiny bit too dry.
But the “Tuna Sashimi with crumbles” (CHF 12.90) was then again smooth in taste and consistency and was quite a perfect levelling to the dry duck.
After having picked out the rather expensive running sushi (not knowing how much they cost in advance) I accidently went for this “these friends” (CHF 7.90). Frankly speaking, I must admit that they were somehow dull but the green part on the rice – that was actually what made them quite interesting.
All in all,the running sushi at the Restaurant Yooji’s Bahnhofstrasse is definitely a great place to have lunch – but frankly if you spend for 5 little plates CHF 61.00 (although including CHF 5.50 for a Nr. 7 Ginger-Lime Bio Tea”) I consider this quite a lot. In any case, at least the sushi is fine – nothing mind-boggeling but definitely fine.
