12. September 2014: Restaurant Rosmarino @ Westin Valencia
Breakfast at the Restaurant Rosmarino is like in most Westin’s I have resided so far. The selection ranges from cold cuts (including Jamón Ibérico) to cheeses …
… various fresh fruit juices (e.g. orange, apple, peach) …
… sweet pastries …
… cereals and jams …
… fresh fruit and yoghurts …
… a selection of various breads …
… and last but not least the typical continental breakfast stuff like bacon, eggs, hash browns and churros – okay, fair enough, churros are not so typical continental European breakfast.
With regards to the atmosphere, the place is actually quite nice inside …
… but even more appealing outside as you have the possibility to sit outside in the shadow while enjoying the heat of the day …
… and feeling like you are really on vacation (which I was). However, the service is dedicated to clean the tables and prepare them again for the next guests but somehow lacks the attention to come to the table and ask if you want anything like tea or a special coffee. Only when you go up to them to ask for e.g. green tea, it is brought to you without hesitation but that is not the service I am used to from SPG properties.
All in all, the breakfast buffet is fine, the atmosphere is great, the service friendly but lacks in attention and the price is very fine when you are a Platinum member (as the breakfast is free).
