7. January 2015: Restaurant Sonnenhalde
The salad to start was simple but good – only the industrially produced salad dressing was a bit a disappointment but I guess if you have to prepare salad for approximately 50 people, it is legit to use such dressing.
For the “Fondue Chinoise” (CHF 70.00 for the whole menu) was alright – but that it was deep-frozen meat which was served instead of fresh meat from the butcher was a bit of a disappointment for me.
The “sauces (cocktail, garlic, tartare, and curry)” were absolutely okay in taste …
… and the selection of “pickled vegetables” was also okay. In addition to these elements, French fries (quite crispy and nice) as well as rice was served so you had some fillers to make sure you have had enough. The service was in this case swifter than the night before – and as friendly obviously.
The little hall they have for a group of guests separated from the rest of the restaurant is actually more appealing than the restaurant itself. Overall, the fondue chinoise was absolutely okay but – for my personal gusto – a bit pricey.
