28. February 2015: Restaurant Last Supper

| April 26, 2015 | 0 Comments

The Last Supper was recommended by a friend and I must say it was a good recommendation – although a bit on the expensive side. The “scallop with pickled salmon, celery, apple, and fennel” was a light and good dish. However, I have already enjoyed way better scallops than the one in the Last Supper.

What was really aromatic and truly outstanding was the “Pommersche Hochrippe (4 weeks bone-dried, approx. 800-900gr)” (EUR 65.00). The meat is inredibly tender and has an intense meat flavour. The layers of fat are definitely adding to the intensity of the flavours but for my personal gusto it was a bit too much fat.

The “fried potatoes” were okay in taste but definitely the weakest part of dinner so far.

To the side, there were a couple of sauces served – “beef jus”, chili sauce” and “herb butter” which I did not really try as the meat itself was so tasty you don’t need any sauce.

The “cheese plate with fig mustard” is rather simple from the selection of cheeses but a sound final of the dinner. What is great though is the selection of wines they have and the quality of the respective wines. The atmosphere of the place is also rather appealing as the place is very cozy, alternative, and generally appealing.

The service is rather alternative and not what you would expect in a regular restaurant – but then again, the Last Supper is not a regular restaurant. The waiter was dedicated and friendly but also made clear with his attitude that he is not a classical waiter but someone who is there as a buddy who brings food and beverages. Overall, the Last Supper is definitely a unique and very appealing place – good food, nice atmosphere, good service but definitely on the expensive side.
