21. May 2015: Restaurant 20/20 by Mövenpick

| July 22, 2015 | 0 Comments

I have had a couple of glasses of wine downstairs in the Mövenpick previously but never got to try the Restaurant 20/20 on the first floor and I must admit it is absolutely worth trying as the food is great!

The “lunch menu” (CHF 40.00) started with an amuse bouche “marinaded duck breast with corn mousse” which was a lovely teaser for your palate to get prepared for the actual menu.

As a starter, “grilled scallops with an olive panna cotta” has been served. While I have really high standards for scallops since I have had the most dream-like scallops in my life at “O Paparico” in Porto, I must admit that these scallops were surprisingly tasty – especially in combination with the olive panna cotta.

The main course was a “beef tagliata with white wine risotto, asparagus from the Danube and rosemary focaccia”. The beef was rich and aromatic, the white wine risotto smooth and creamy, only the rosemary focaccia was a bit too dough-y.

To finalize lunch, “cantuccini with almond mousse and strawberry” were served which had a great balanced sweetness and creaminess.

The setting of the restaurant is lovely – the tables are far apart so you have your privacy, the interior is very formal but als very appealing and last but not least, you immediately feel comfortable as the waitress takes care of you the moment you arrive and keeps on doing so throughout the whole lunch.

The prices are very, very reasonable for what you get – which is also true for the beverages. I.e. a glass (1dl) of “Riesling Miltor” accounts for CHF 7.50, bottle of San Pellegrino (0,75L) for CHF 7.50, and last but not least, an espresso CHF 4.70.

Overall, I must admit, the dishes served are lovely, the price is super fair, the atmosphere is lovely, and the service is very friendly and professional! Definitely worth having lunch here – also with your clients.
