9. June 2015: Restaurant La Stella Gümligen

The salad which comes with the menu is quite decent – it is composed of various ingredients ranging from tomatoes, corn, feta cheese to leaf salad. The sauce is rather standard but still a very decent salad – especially for the fact that it is complimentary.

The bread which is served as a starter is quite okay too – unfortunately, it is a bit dark adn when we asked for more bread less dark, we were never delivered the bread. Actually it is just pizza dough though and not really bread in its original meaning.

As a main I had the “Pizza Diavolo (tomatoes, mozzarella, oregano, salami, onions, peppers, chili, garlic)” (CHF 21.00) and additional “anchovies”. The pizza was good and aromatic but also rather heavy. However, besides the crust being a bit too thick it was a very decent pizza.

The restaurant itself is nothing special with regards to the atmosphere. The fact that it is right next to the street does not really help to improve that fact. However, I must admit that the service is very friendly and also efficient – we made it very clear that we were short on time and they managed to take the order, bring the pizza, and finally the bill within a mere 40 minutes. Good performance.

If you are around the area, you get a decent lunch for a very fair price at this premise but it is not a place you have to drive to in order get an extraordinary meal. If in the area, it is very okay though to have lunch here.
