12. July 2015: Restaurant Boruta
Dumplings are really a Polish thing and I must admit that generally speaking they are actually quite tasty. That’s why I went for the “plate of mixed dumplings (meat, cabbage and mushrooms, cheese, buckwheat and cheese) 8 pieces, 280gr” (22 PLN). I liked that they are all of different taste, respectively you get two of each (which makes it a perfect dish to share). However, while the meat and the cheese dumplings were actually quite tasty, I was not really a fan of the mushroom and buckwheat ones.
The prices are absolutely fair for what you get – not only with regards to the meal but also with regards to the beverages (i.e. fresh lemonade with mint, 10 PLN; Ostromecka mineral water sparkling, 0,33L, 6 PLN). The service is generally friendly and also rather quick. However, it is not that attnetive and you have to be quite patient in order to get what you want.
What makes the place really cool though is the fact that you get to sit outside and the tables are basically somehow swings so you can chill in the sun, and swing. Like in the old days when you were a kid. Frankly speaking though, I would not go there for the dishes but it is the perfect place to enjoy a couple of drinks in the sun.
