14. July 2015: Restaurant Kultura
As a last experience in Poland for this trip, I went again for the classical “dumplings with veal and forest mushrooms with sage butter” (29 PLN) and while I was a bit sceptical from the previous experience, I must admit that these dumplings were actually great. I think the sage butter helped a lot there as it provided it with a tasty flavour, however, the stuffing was good too.
As a main, I had the “grilled Teriyaki salmon, rice, cucumber and wakame salad” (47 PLN). The salmon was perfectly cooked, still slightly glassy, the teriyaki sauce did the rest of the trick. And even the cucumbers were delicious! The only thing which is a bit of a downturn is the relatively high price (for Polish standards).
The place is perfectly located as it is basically at the entrance of the pedestrian area so it is great to watch people. The service is definitely not up to its task. They are friendly, not a question but it took them a solid 15 minutes to bring me a bottle of water (0,7L, 12 PLN), respectively, at first I got a bottle of 0,33L (5PLN) which I then returend but the bottle was still charged. Definitely not what you would expect! However, the place is still worth a visit if yo uare relaxed about the service and not starving. Because if you are, it is a very bad idea! Patience is key to success here!
