21. August 2015: Restaurant DOMM

I have visited a couple of restaurants which are part of the EasyDining.ch program – and I must say, so far this was definitely the best visit. As a greeting from the kitchen, “polenta with porcini” was served. Definitely not something you usually get as a greeting from the kitchen and overall very lovely. However, one would hope that the kitchen checks what the guests have ordered as my main course was beef fillet with porcini and polenta.

As a starter, I went for the “gnocchi di patate al gorgonzola in cialda di Parmigiano” (CHF 14.00, respectively CHF 7.00 with EasyDining.ch). The waiter was kind enough to ask if I want to go for the small portion instead of the normal one. The gnocchi were quite okay but the gorgonzola sauce could definitely have been more intense in taste.

The “grilled beef fillet (250gr) with vegetables and porcini sauce” (CHF 45.00, respectively CHF 22.50 with Easy Dining.ch) was fine in taste but was – as mentioned initially – really very similar to the greeting from the kitchen which was a bit of a disappointment. The “extra polenta” (CHF 6.00, respectively CHF 3.00 with EasyDining.ch) was as good as in the beginning.

The restaurants is very atmospheric, the service is attentive and very friendly, and the prices are absolutely fair – especially with EasyDining.ch – but not only that. The prices for the beverages are fine too. A bottle of “Barbaresco DOCG “Rabajà”, 2008″ accounts for CHF 82.00, a bottle of “San Benedetto Frizzante” for CHF 6.00, a double espresso for CHF 7.00, and a 1DL glass of Arneis for CHF 8.00.

Overall, I can recommend the restaurant DOMM. Nice atmosphere, good and dedicated service, fair food, and very fair prices. Especially if you go and eat with EasyDining.ch (we saved CHF 64.00).
