29. October 2015: Okrepčevalnica Ribca
The Okrepčevalnica Ribca was recommended to me and I was starving I thought I’d give it a try. Frankly, I am a bit torn what to say about it. It is located right by the fish market so you get fresh fish. I decided to have “Mixed Portions: Anchovies – Fried Calamari” (EUR 6.40) as a starter and while the dish was not bad it was a lot of fried batter and not that much of actual anchovies and calamari. I wished for a bit more taste and texture of anchovies than what I got.
As a main course I went for the “Trout Fillet with Grilled Polenta” (EUR 6.30). While the trout was actually good the polenta was more “soaked in fat” than grilled. Definitely not my favourite side dish. The “Tartar Sauce” (EUR 0.70) was rather dull and definitely industrially produced.
The place is very simple and not too appealing and while the waiter was friendly he was definitely not too attentive.
Overall, while the seafood elements were actually okay (not more than that but okay), I would not recommend to pay the “Okrepčevalnica Ribca” a visit. The prices are very fair though (which is also true for the beverages, i.e. bottled water 0,5l, EUR 1.70; Beer Union, 0,5l EUR, EUR 2.60).
