10. November 2015: Restaurant Casa Colonial
The “beefsteak tatar classic with toast and butter” (CHF 29.50) is definitely presented nicely. However, unfortunately, it does not match the taste. While the looks are fabulous, the taste is not so much. It is absolutely fine, yes, but it does not go a tiny bit beyond that.
The service is friendly and swift, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is generally nice if it wasn’t for the smoke. It is, to be fair, more of a bar / smoker’s lounge and not a restaurant, however, it is not really the perfect environment to enjoy food. With regards to the dishes, the price is fair which is also true for the “0,5L Valser” (CHF 5.00) and 1DL Monasterio (CHF 12.50). If you live close to the Casa Colonial, it looks like a really nice place where you can chill and eventually smoke a cigar, if you do not live close there is absolutely no reason why you should visit.
