14. November 2015: Restaurant Kyo Hachi

| January 29, 2016 | 0 Comments

One of the highlights of Hong Kong is to go up to the Victoria Peak to have a view all over Hong Kong and once you have arrived up there (by the way, the easiest, fastest, but also the most expensive way to get up there is by cab) you are probably hungry, and the options are rather limited.

VictoriaPeak

One possibility is the Kyo Hachi. The asset of the restaurant is the view you have as you are sitting at the window front with look onto Hong Kong – which is absolutely lovely. However, when it comes to the service, it is incredibly slow. So you really have to be patient. When you are starving it is not the right choice to come here.

The “assorted spicy sashimi salad” (170 HKD) is absolutely okay. It is absolutely fine but definitely nothing outstanding. Frankly, I have somehow had expected a bit better sashimi. I don’t know why, maybe because I was in Asia? Well, anyway, it is okay.

As a main course, I had “fried “Angus” rib-eye with hand-made udon” (155 HKD) and frankly, that was disappointing. The dish did not taste like much and the noodles were overcooked for my personal gusto.

The prices for what I had were okay, however, there are a few things on the menu which are rather expensive – and I honestly wonder if it would be enjoyable. However, the prices for the beverages are okay, i.e. Coke Zero (46 HKD), San Pellegrino (58 HKD) or double espresso (68 HKD).
