10. December 2015: Restaurant Moriki
Obviously, a Japanese meal – in Europe – has to be started with “Edamame (Japanese green beans, sea salt)” (EUR 5.00) and while it was good I have had better edamame in the past.
With the “Sushi Chef’s Choice” there is a miso soup – which was a miso soup like any other miso soup.
What was great though was the actual “Sushi Chef’s Choice for 2 (Sashimi, Nigiri, Maki, Extreme Roll)” (EUR 68.00) which is definitely a pricey option for lunch but it was worth it. The fish is fresh and flavourful, the variety of different sushi and sashimi you get is definitely great. If you are hungry for lunch, this is the perfect selection.
The place is very atmospheric modern, stylishly furnished and the waitress was friendly and rather quick – only towards the end when it come to paying the attention of the waitress was definitely lower. While it is a bit a pricey option for German lunch standards, the Moriki is a great place for Japanese lunch – flavourful and rich sushi as well as sashimi in a great atmosphere.
