16. July 2010: Aran Bar

| July 18, 2010 | 0 Comments

The Aran bar is located in a parallel street of the Seepromande which is the main street of Überlingen going along the lake shore. Überlingen is reachable by either train or ship. To get there by car from Switzerland can be quite annoying as the highway somehow leads around the edge of the lake.

The Münsterstrasse in which the bar is situated is the (one and only) shopping street of Überlingen – the street isn’t long, really but it has a few nice stores and the bar looks already respectively nice from the outside.

Although there are tables outside, it’s recommendable to sit inside during the afternoon in summer as otherwise it’s way too hot. The inside is really nice and cool and you have just a few tables but very spacious ones.

You don’t really get served as you have to go to the counter and order yourself (self-service). The selection to choose from is quite good and the prices are absolutely decent (e.g. paying 5 EUR for 2dl of white wine).

The Aran Bar is a nice bar which is close to the main part of Überlingen and provides a nice atmosphere.
