30. October 2009: Restaurant Outback Lodge
The Outback Lodge is located in Zurich close to Bellevue right in the train station “Stadelhofen”. It’s accessible easily by foot or – of course – by train.
It’s a quite crowded place in the evenings so if you’re a large group, it’s absolutely recommendable to reserve in advance.
The Outback Lodge has the style of an Australian Lodge (or at least it’s supposed to look like) and has some atmosphere, but it’s not really an outstanding experience with regards to atmosphere. The decor is wooden and therefor, you kind of feel comfortable right away but on the other hand, it’s also a bit too sec.
All in all, the place is a bit noisy/loud when it’s crowded and, therefore, it’s recommendable to reserve a table a bit in the back and not right in front of the bar (too loud).
The menu is acceptably big and offers a wide variety of different dishes: crocodile, kangoroo and ostrich (just to mention a few).
The dishes are quite large – so you won’t feel like having not enough food on the plate. The dishes are tasty and reasonably spicy. They’re good in taste and look even quite nice on the plate.
The waiters are fast and friendly and the waiting time for the food is absolutely okay. Nothing to complain about here.
The Outback Lodge is a good place to enjoy some tasty food for reasonable prices (for Zurich) – reservation in the evenings recommended.
