25. January 2016: Executive Lounge @ Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel & Resort
The Executive Lounge at the Sheraton Rio is definitely one of the nicer lounges I have encountered in the past couple of months. It is open 24/7 providing access with your room key and serving the most basic dishes (cookies) and beverages.
The interior is modernly designed and provides you with a very comfortable feeling so you can actually relax and enjoy …
… however, what is a bit odd is the location of the hotel as basically all around you, there are favelas. It is quite disturbing when you reside in a 5-star hotel and pay as much for one night as the people living in a favela probably don’t even make in a year.
What is truly great about the Club Floor (26th floor) is the Club Service. That is what I call unique and outstanding guest service experience. Yara, who is responsible for the afternoon shift does a tremendous job to amaze you. Not only to provide you with nice room upgrades and welcome treatments like a bottle of wine and fresh fruit but also when you encounter problems with the airline she is gladly willing to help! Amazing service!
Overall, the Executive Lounge and the respective Club Floor on the 26th floor really provide you with an outstanding SPG Platinum experience as you always wish it to be!
