Atmospheric bar at King’s Cross: GNH Bar (20. February 2016)
The GNH Bar is a very lively place which is quite crowded on a Saturday evening. But not only that it is also quite loud. The music which is really making an intelligent conversation a bit difficult as soon as you are more than two people. However, the bar is lovely and the drinks – I had a “GNH Mint Julep” (GBP 15.00) and a “GNH Vodka Martinez” (GBP 15.00) – are good.
The service is friendly, attentive, and dedicated. And actually quite good in sales. When we decided to move from Mint Julep to another drink, we were having a couple of drinks in mind, and when I asked how our waitress likes the “Vodka Martinez”, she replied with “This is delicious! It is my favourite drink!”. Only to turn up 5 minutes later, sheepishly asking: “Which drink did you order?”. When I told her, “your favourite drink!”, she was obviously not able to recall which was her favourite drink! No harm happened, however, if you make a sales pitch at least keep it up till the end!
Still, recommendable place but lower service points than if that incident would not have happened.
