Where you learn to wait: Restaurant Tango (1. March 2016)

| May 1, 2016 | 0 Comments

We were very happy when the Tango allowed us to order some dishes around 10:30pm when they were about to close the kitchen as it is quite a journey to find a place which offers food after that time. However, what was not considered in the process was the time for the food to arrive – and I am not entirely sure if the kitchen was slow or the waiters were already mentally home.

However, a solid 40 minutes after having place the order, the dishes came. And I would say, hey, yes, I am super glad you were so nice to serve food that late! But 40 minutes for a “rocket salad with cherry tomatoes and grana shavings” (CHF 12.90) – really? Wow! I am impressed! And no: That’s not a positive thing!

My main course were “potato gnocchi with radicchio, bacon and gorgonzola” (CHF 19.50) which were fine – a bit dull but at least the gorgonzola sauce was subtly there.

The dishes were absolutely fine, proper dish, nothing outstanding in any direction but waiting 40 minutes (and: we were the absolutely only customers left waiting for our dishes even when we had arrived) for a rocket salad is – let’s say “special”!

Atmospherically, the place is okay, rather average but okay. When it comes to the prices for beverages, the same applies: Average (compared to competition, i.e. 0,5L San Pellegrino, CHF 5.50).

My summary is simple: If you are looking for decent dishes which are served in a decent time, you should definitely try the Argentino (which is adjacent to the Tango) instead – quicker, as good, same price, same atmosphere, better service!
