Spanish food German style: Restaurant Buena Vista (15. April 2016)

| June 12, 2016 | 0 Comments

When you are told that there is a restaurant in a German city which serves good Spanish food – well, you are obviously skeptical. And so far I was usually right, but I must admit that the dishes which are served at the Buena Vista are absolutely okay. I started with “alioli con pan casero” (EUR 3.50) and I must say the alioli was definitely rich and intense. The “pimientos de padrón” (EUR 4.80) were fine too and actually on the spicier side.

The “crispy chicken wings in a spicy sauce” (EUR 4.80) were tasty but for my personal gusto, the sauce was too tomato-based. The “berenjena con queso de oveja” (EUR 5.50) was rich and savory. The “gambas al ajillo” (EUR 7.00) were enough but frankly speaking the gambas were just too dry – overcooked for my gusto.

The place was actually getting super full on a Friday evening (around 5:30pm) which struck me odd as I did not expect people to eat that early. However, if you are planning to go there, I would make sure that you get a reservation beforehand as else you might not be that lucky to score a table.

The waiter is friendly and swift doing a good job. When it comes to the prices, they are absolutely fine which is also true for the beverages (i.e 0,75L water, EUR 4.90; Corona, EUR 3.40). If you are looking for a German-Spanish experience, the Buena Vista is a nice place – if you are looking for a truly Spanish experience, go to Spain.
