Quite good breakfast: Cappomio (16. April 2016)

| June 13, 2016 | 0 Comments

It was actually way more difficult to find a place to have breakfast in Salzburg at 8:30am than originally expected. Not only because there are not that many places open on a Saturday morning where you can have breakfast, but in addition to that, once we found the Cappomio, we realized that almost the whole restaurant had pre-booked tables. Luckily, we still got one!

The “Carpe Diem (prosciutto crudo, cheese, toast with bacon and eggs, jam, butter, plus one Carpe Diem Kombucho (EUR 3.80)” (EUR 9.90) is a nice selection of all you need for a breakfast and the food is actually really good and more than enough (which I definitely had not expected).

You get also two pieces of bread which come with the breakfast …

… so price-wise it is absolutely great. However, that they charge EUR 1.00 for one additional piece of butter is a bit of a rip-off comparing to what you pay for the whole breakfast. Else, the prices are also fair for the beverages, i.e. Römerquelle (0,33L), EUR 2.70; freshly pressed orange juice (0,25L), EUR 4.30; double espresso, EUR 3.80.

The waitress was friendly and attentive at first, but once the place got a bit more crowded (and people with reservations started arriving), you would have to be a bit more patient. The place itself is nothing special but absolutely decent to have breakfast. What was definitely not to my liking is the fact that they did not accept credit cards or maestro cards as the “terminal” didn’t work. Still, if you are looking for a place to have breakfast in Salzburg – the Cappomio is fine!
