Funny icecream flavours: Gelateria Santa Trinita (23. April 2016)
The Gelateria Santa Trinita offers proper Italian ice cream – but they offer also something more: True Italian ice cream with a twist. I went for the non-standard flavors: “ricotta and figs”, “black sesame” and “pure pistachio” (EUR 3.90). The ricotta you can barely taste but the figs are fresh, sweet and aromatic.
What is definitely a bit more special is “black sesame” which really tastes unique at first. It still does taste weird, even after a couple of bites, however, once you have had a couple of bites, you actually kind of start to like it. At least that it what had happened to me. The real mind fuck is the “pure pistachio” though. You expect ice cream to be sweet somehow – but it is not. It is very different somehow – pure pistachio without any sweetness.
Overall, the flavours are interesting to try because they are something new, something you have probably not tried before, but they are also nothing special. Honestly, if I return one more time, I would definitely go for the “regular” flavours.
