Where old Italian men eat their lunch: Fiaschetteria Osteria Nuvoli (24. April 2016)

| June 28, 2016 | 0 Comments

Again recommended by a local, we realized immediately why you do not see any tourists coming here. When approaching this very tiny bar which serves food, there were four old men sitting on small wooden chairs right in front of the place drinking a glass of red wine loudly discussing. Now, they were sitting in a way they would block the entrance to the place. Given that, you had to ask first if you can pass, and only once that was possible you ended up in a tiny but very lovely place. The “penne al coccio with pancetto, prosciutto, pomodoro” (EUR 6.00) is as great as it is simple.

There is just one guy running the whole place – apparently the son of the owner – and he is busy, friendly, Italian-style talkative, and helpful. What I really liked was the atmosphere …

Overall, definitely an authentic and local experience where you get simple but great dishes for a very very reasonable price in a simple but great atmosphere with the true local experience of old Italian men blocking the entrance to the little place while drinking a glass of wine at 11am.
