Hipster-like place with a view: Rio Maravilha @ LX Factory (7. May 2016)
When you are in Lisbon, you should definitely pay the LX Factory a visit. It is a former production site which has been re-purposed. Nowadays, you can find a lot of shops, a lot of independent kind of stores. A lovely area really. I only got to know about it this time I visited Lisbon and I must say, despite the fact that I was in there only for a very short time, it was something which immediately caught my attention.
From the outside, you would never assume that there is a hipster place on the 4th floor when you see “Rio Maravilha” from the outside. However, there actually is. Either you get up the 4 floors by foot or you take the elevator – but you have to be super patient until it arrives and it can only carry four people. Once you arrive on the roof top, you are welcomed by a rather big room which is full of carpets, old leather sofas and the like. So pretty random overall but doesn’t fail to create an atmosphere.
If you are patient – and you have to be on a Saturday evening – the tables are even served. But especially if you order for a larger group, you have to make sure that you are patient. In any case, paying the LX Factory and especially the Rio Maravilha a visit is definitely something I can personally recommend.
