All you can eat sushi: Restaurant kofookoo (19. June 2016)

The “All you can eat Dinner selection” (EUR 25.90) is really a bargain. The concept works pretty simple. You get a tablet and have a total of approximately two hours time to order every 10 minutes max. 5 dishes. And it addresses food waste too because everything you won’t be able to eat, you will be charged EUR 1.00. I think that is a pretty perfect approach to ensure that you only eat as long as you really are hungry.

I went for a selection of “Maguro Nigiri (2 pieces)” (usually EUR 3.40, “Shake Maki (3 pieces)” (usually EUR 2.50), “Tekka Maki (3 pieces)” (usually EUR 2.60), and “Insideout Shake (2 peices)” (usually EUR 2.80). It is not the best sushi I have tried in my life but for the price you pay, it is actually absolutely decent.

The second round was “Ahiru No Karaage, crispy duck” (usually EUR 4.80), “Tori No Karaage, breaded chicken” (usually EUR 4.60), and “Yaki Tori (2 pieces), grilled chicken skewers” (usually EUR 3.50). Frankly, when it comes to the fish, it is quite fine but the meat …

… was not really that great. Also in the second round where I had “Gyu Hireniku, grilled beef” (usually EUR 6.50) as well as “Bulgogi Beef, Korean fire meat” (usually EUR 5.50), this impression was confirmed.

I went for the “salmon sashimi” (usually EUR 7.90) which was absolutely great but you would have to pay an additional EUR 3.00 as this dish is not fully included in the “all you can eat”.

For dessert, I went for “black sesame ice cream” (EUR 2.00) and “green tea ice cream” (EUR 2.00). While the green tea ice cream was actually quite tasty the black sesame ice cream is something you really have to get used to.

With regards to the atmosphere, the Restaurant kofookoo is nothing special really. It is absolutely fine but definitely nothing outstanding. The service is friendly and the dishes when ordered are brought to your table quite quickly. However, if you want to order anything not via the tablet but by talking to a waiter directly, it takes them quite a bit of time to realize you want something.
