Lovely beach but average beach bar: Xilokeriza Beach Bar (16. July 2016)
The Xilokeriza beach is either reachable by bus (which is apparently quite a hassle) or by motorboat which is definitely more expensive (~130 EUR) but also worth it as it allows you to arrive early at the beach and get a nice beach bed to relax throughout the day. While the lagoon is calm and there are not too many people it becomes a bit more crowded in the afternoon as the Greeks usually arrive quite late.
Which is also visible by the amount of larger boats and yachts arriving later during the day.
If you are thirsty or hungry, there is also a small selection of dishes and drinks which can be bought at the beach bar. However, the selection is rather limited. I tried the “Souvlaki” (EUR 2.00) which was quite okay but also nothing special. When it comes to ordering, you have to be incredibly (!) patient as it actually takes ages for them to serve anything. Even ordering a bottle of water (0,5L, EUR 0.50) which is basically to take it from the fridge and hand it over, takes them a solid 5 minutes. I have absolutely no clue what they do in between but it is definitely not a efficient way of handling it.
So, definitely come here for the beach – not so much for the beach bar though.
