A different type of Italian: Restaurant Più (27. July 2016)
I walked by the Restaurant Più many times and it was always packed. I suppose, mainly because it is nice to sit outside in summer. However, given the hot weather and me wearing a suit, I decided to take a table inside. And while at first the place looked a bit dull, I actually realized that someone paid a lot of attention to detail to decorate the restaurant nicely with old phones. Quite a distinct taste but I definitely liked the result!
The waitress showed up rather quickly and took our drink orders which were served within due time too. As a main course, I went for the “quinoa, rocket salad, almonds, dried cranberries” (CHF 18.00) with “guinea fowl breast” (+ CHF 8.00). The salad was refreshing and the guinea fowl was still juicy. Quite a lovely combination.
The “passion fruit” and “lemon-lime sorbet” (CHF 3.50 per scoop) was rather ordinary compared to the quinoa guinea fowl combination but still okay.
The prices for the dishes are absolutely fine, and actually also for the beverages, but I somehow still have issues coping with a bottle of water costing CHF 10.00 or more. And a bottle of 1L of San Pellegrino costs exactly CHF 10.00. A double espresso accounts for CHF 6.00 which is fine. Overall, I was positively surprised by the Più – a nice, stable, simple place with fair food, good service, nice atmosphere and fair prices.
