The perfect place for an extended lunch: Restaurant Fischer’s Fritz (29. July 2016)

| September 22, 2016 | 0 Comments

The Fischer’s Fritz is a place you definitely have to visit in summer – the tables on the balcony are absolutely great as they offer you privacy while you have an amazing view over Lake Zurich. We decided to have the “Coco’s vegetable basket for two people with anchovy mayonnaise” (CHF 28.50). When it was served I was absolutely wondering who would bring a bouquet of flowers to the table until I realized it was our vegetables basket. And the thing is huge! Both being rather hungry, we did not even nearly manage to finish it but the idea of having just fresh vegetables with a mayonnaise was absolutely great – and it tasted great and fresh!

We had also ordered “falaffel” (CHF 15.50) … well, actually, we didn’t! But they were brought to the table and we tried them at first. And discussed for a second if we should correct it and get what we actually ordered or not. Given they were way too dry for our personal gusto, we went for the original order.

The “baked button mushrooms with sauce tartare” (CHF 15.50) were definitely way better. The interior was super juicy and fresh while actually being perfectly coated in the fried bread crust!

The “fish strips from whitefish with home-made sauce tartare” (CHF 26.50) are absolutely good! They are still somewhat fresh, juicy and not as dry as many other fish strips I have tried in my life.

The “truffled French fries – Cervo style” (CHF 9.50) are good but the portion was way too big after the vegetable basket, the falaffel, the mushrooms and the fish strips. However, if you are here for a lunch, I can recommend you to have something at the Fischer’s Fritz.

The place is not only great due to the dishes which are good but also due to the fact that you are right by the lake, the view is great, the service is friendly and attentive (only when it came to ordering the bill, it took a while for them to realize) – and the prices are actually fair for what you get! Booking in advance not only recommended but needed!
