Very touristic place with dull food: Caffé Mercanti (10. September 2016)

| October 18, 2016 | 0 Comments

The moment when you end up in the most touristic place ever – and still kind of wonder why the food you’ve ordered tastes like absolutely nothing. Well, if you are starving and are ready to pay way more than you normally would be ready to pay, the Caffé Mercanti is the place to go. Else, don’t go.

Despite its location – which is nice – there is not much why one should come here. I went for the “Bruschetta di Parma” (EUR 12.00) with mozzarella on top which looked not that bad but really did not taste like anything. Like, so blunt! Incredible, I must say. And for the fact that you get some ham on a very dry piece of bread with a slice of mozzarella which tastes like nothing, EUR 12.00 are a bit too much.

The same applies for the double espresso with EUR 7.00. I mean, if you are in Zurich, fine, that is kind of the normal price, but in Milano? Wow! At least the 0,75l San Pellegrino were decent in price with EUR 5.50. What one must admit to is the fact that the waiters were actually friendly and helpful – we were a bit a larger group and there were not tables for 5 people available, so they arranged something for us quite quickly which is definitely something I would not have expected. Still, not worth going.
