Decent tartar for lunch: Restaurant Loft Five (22. September 2016)
The “Mediterranean Loft Five Style tartar with roasted nuts, Parmesan, olives, raw spinach, and slow cooked bio egg” (CHF 35.00) sounded really promising. However, when the dish was actually brought to my table, I figured that somehow something is missing a bit. There was no sign of spinach or egg which was a bit surprising. After I had taken the first couple of bites, the waiter approached again and asked – while apologizing quite extensively – to take the dish with him again.
When it was delivered the second time, the rest of the ingredients were there but it was not really displayed in a nice way. However, in combination with the egg, the dish was definitely way better. But it did not stop there – we had also ordered French fries twice. And upon asking where they are, we figured that the waiter had forgotten to take up that part of the order. And he didn’t get it right the next time either – as only one “portion of fries” (CHF 6.50) arrived. Well, well …
Besides the obviously not up to the task waiter, the lunch service was fine as usual. The dish were good – at least once completed – and the atmosphere is as nice as always but this time it really was an underperformance of the waiter.
