DIY breakfast: Breakfast area @ aloft Munich (18. November 2016)

| December 17, 2016 | 0 Comments

My first stay at an aloft ever – and I must admit that I was very positively surprised by the rooms and the general design of the hotel. What was not so much to my liking though was the “DIY breakfast”. I get it that the aloft is the hip young hotel type and ‘serving’ breakfast by making the guest get everything him- or herself is a modern concept but definitely not one to my liking.

Although, admittedly, the selection is decent as you have salmon, cold cuts, yogurt, various cheeses, vegetables,  …

… some juice and breads as well as bacon and eggs. So you basically find something for breakfast which you can enjoy …

… but frankly speaking, it is kind of not so atmospheric. When I got down to start my breakfast, the 10 tables the breakfast area has, were completely packed. Somehow it creates more the atmosphere of a fast food restaurant than a decent hotel place.

Overall, the breakfast selection is good but the place definitely lacks of atmosphere – and I personally wouldn’t mind if there would be someone who you could place an order with (e.g. for an omelet or the like – given the room accounts for EUR 143.00).
