Decent breakfast selection @ Restaurant La Rotonda @ The Westin Palace Madrid (10. December 2016)

The breakfast selection at the Restaurant La Rotonda in The Westin Palace Madrid is overall quite lovely – you really find everything for every taste there is. There is a big selection of sweets and various breads as well as cereals …

… fresh fruit …

… dried fruit and addings to the cereals …

… as well as more fruit …

… and the Mexican sweets churros (where the chocolate sauce was missing or at least I didn’t find it) …

… and salmon, various types of cheese …

… all kinds of diary products …

… but also something for the Arabic taste like hummus with pita bread …

… and more bread …

… and jams. What you also get is freshly prepared egg dishes like my favourite “ham and cheese omelet”. And while the omelet is actually delicious, there is one flaw to it – it takes the chef kind of ages to prepare the egg dish. But once you have it, you will definitely be able to enjoy it. To be fair though, the second day I got “bacon and cheese” instead of “ham and cheese” but hey, well, it is something.

The service quality varies quite a bit – you’re welcomed very friendly and brought to your table. Then, depending on the day and the waiter, sometimes they are super attentive and making sure that you have everything you need – sometimes, that does not really work! However, overall, the breakfast in the La Rotonda is definitely something you can do when you stay at The Westin Palace – but also something you should do when you do not stay there. Recommended to book a table in advance, especially for the Sunday brunch.
