Great bargain for lunch with varying service quality: Restaurant Razzia (9. January 2017)
It is not often that you get a lunch menu for CHF 28.00 but in Razzia you can (including starter and main course). Today, it was a “carrot ginger soup” as a starter which was thick, intense, and tasty. The starter was served only shortly after we have taken a seat and placed our order.
The “beef filet Stroganoff” as a main course was way better than expected – the beef was more tender and the portion was quite generous. And up until this moment, the service was actually flawless. Once the main course was over and the plates were taken, we were asked if we wanted a dessert.
And I did but not liking their choice of the day, I asked if I could just have part of it, only the “salted caramel ice cream”. At first, the waiter then brought the original dessert but as a small portion and after I told him that I had ordered the ice cream, I was brought “sour cream ice cream” (CHF 5.00) which is kind of not really what I had ordered originally. A pity really because until before, the service was outstanding. But I guess a change of service between the courses is not really the smartest way to go about it.
However, overall, the lunch menu in the restaurant Razzia is a great bargain considering the average price for a lunch menu in Zurich and the dishes are actually good. Only when it comes to service, there is room for improvement, respectively they have to make sure to make it more consistent.
