Nice place, tasty breakfast but limited selection: Café Clara (12. February 2017)
The Café Clara is hidden in Maxvorstadt but it is definitely worth looking for. The place is small, quite crowded (reservation highly recommended) and the interior creates a cozy atmosphere. The benches are a bit hard to sit on so after some time it becomes a bit uncomfortable to sit. However, the waitress welcomes you friendly and takes on your order quite quickly.
I went for a “fresh ginger tea” (EUR 4.60), a pair of “Bavarian veal sausage with a pretzel and sweet mustard” (EUR 6.50) which was fine in taste but took a bit longer than expected because the first pair exploded in the water. However, the Bavarian veal sausage is fine.
Secondly, I took something from the board (not in the menu) somehow called something like “Moroccan pita bread with hummus and feat” (EUR 4.80) which was perfect soul food – feeding you perfectly. So both dishes were simple but good.
What was a bit disappointing though was the overall selection of breakfast dishes. I mean, after all this is supposed to be a breakfast place – and for that, it is rather limited what you can order. Good indeed, but limited in selection. Overall, the Café Clara can be recommended though – nice place, friendly staff, good food, but limited selection.
