I can recommend you … not to go: Restaurant & Bar Alte Post (10. March 2017)

Frankly, the Alte Post isn’t a place I would usually attend but given we were there in the context of a larger group, I guess it’s fine. As a ‘starter’, if you want, a salad bowl, respectively several, were brought to the table – to help yourself. I mean, I like the idea that you would be able to enjoy whatever you want but it just somehow doesn’t show ‘dedication’ in the kitchen. Additionally, when one of the table asked for salad without sauce – yeah, don’t question it, just happened – the waiter took a solid 15 minutes to get that organized.

After that, a variety of pizze were served – one after the other, all different ones (only took a picture of the first one) and the pizza was generally quite okay – nothing outstanding but it would do the trick. When it comes to the atmosphere though, it is somewhat average – you feel like in a chalet up in the mountains but not really in a pleasant way.

Given we spent a solid CHF 2’000 plus there, I was a bit surprised about the readiness of the waiters to help. After the bill was closed, one of the table asked for a coffee on the house. Now, I get it, okay, we pay for what we consume, but really? We spend more than CHF 2’000 and you can’t even offer us a coffee? After we kind of complained, it worked. But not the way to go about customers you want to come again. To sum it up, nope, thanks, not again!
