Lunch bargain – if you ask for it: Restaurant Rosaly’s (16. March 2017)
What was quite surprising was the fact that they do have a ‘lunch menu’ as they do not advertise it anywhere but you have to specifically ask them if they have something – and it turns out they do. The “lunch menu” (CHF 27.00) this day was a “spinach cream soup” which was fine in taste but not to my gusto in consistency as it was way too watery.
And a “beef paillard au gratin with Café de Paris” (CHF 27.00). And while I was expecting pretty much nothing for CHF 27.00, I must say not only the portion was well but it tasted actually quite great! A surprise there but a pleasant one.
And it even came with a “champignon potato gratin” which looked not too appealing but tasted quite good too. So, overall, if you ask for the lunch menu, you will end up having a great lunch for a really good price, especially considering the location and the city you’re having lunch at. Just make sure to book well in advance as on short notice you only get a table at the bar – which works but is definitely less comfortable than a regular table.
The waitress was friendly, smiley, and attentive. Overall, besides the fact that I messed up with the reservation and only scored a table by the bar, a very pleasant lunch experience with very fair prices (including beverages, i.e 0,5l Passuger, CHF 6.50 and a double espresso for CHF 5.80).
